There are many reasons that can cause the “Netflix Site Error – We were unable to process your request“. So, before going to the solutions we must know why Netflix site error occurs–
What are the causes of Netflix Site Error?
- You are streaming on the incompatible browser.
- Lots of Netflix cookies store on your browser’s history.
- The Netflix site error occurs when there’s a network connectivity issue with your device.
- You are searching too much from different devices with a similar account.
So these are some common reasons for Netflix Site Error. Below are some solutions to the error ‘we were unable to process your request‘.
Solution 1- Use Different Device
If you get this error on your browser, then try to sign in Netflix on a different device. If you’re already signed in to your account on another device you’ll first need to sign out of Netflix, then sign in again. If you are able to stream content without any issues, this means that something on the device you used before that triggers the problem.
So, follow the next solution to fix this Netflix error on your device.
Solution 2- Clear the Netflix Cookie
In most instances, it is a matter of knowledge from your browser which is not up-to-date so that it must be updated. Follow these steps to clear Netflix cookies on your device-
- Go to the netflix.com/clearcookies to clear the Netflix cookie. This will sign you out of your account, so make sure you have your password to sign back in.
- Click the Sign In button and type your Netflix email and password to login to your account.
- Check your error is fixed or not.
Solution 3- Try using VPN
As you may know, Netflix provides its streaming services in lots of other countries also. That is because it is not possible to see any show or production on all markets because license agreements are also involved.
That’s why Virtual Private Network (VPN) comes into the role. A VPN can provide you a temporary IP address for the country you want. So, add a VPN on your browser and try to stream on another country’s IP address.
Solution 4- Turn off Hardware Acceleration
You can allow hardware acceleration in your browser to boost your browsing experience. But this may be a factor that creates a connection error with Netflix. You may then seek to disable the hardware acceleration feature to fix the problem.
Turn off hardware acceleration on Chrome by following these steps-
- Go to the “Menu > Settings”
- Then scroll down and select “Advanced Settings”
- Under ‘System’ unchecks “Use hardware acceleration when available”.
After that, restart your browser and test if Netflix error has been fixed or not.
Solution 5- Using incognito mode
Incognito mode helps users without recording information about you or visiting websites you don’t want to be saved to your history. So, try to stream any Netflix video on incognito mode.
If this helps and Netflix starts running then temporarily disable your extensions to identify which one is causing the rendering problem. To do this go to chrome://extensions and uncheck Enabled for each extension one by one.
After doing the above method, try to stream Netflix again. Hopefully, your error will be fixed.
